Come join our Taekwondo program with amazing coach Master Yvette Yong, for little MOVERS ages 4 to 12. Your kids will love this fun and engaging martial arts experience, known for its high flying spinning jumping kicking and as an Olympic sport, while learning self-defence, focus, discipline and respect.
Yvette is a 5th Dan Black Belt, practicing the sport of Taekwondo since the age of 9 for 20 years, with over 12 years of experience teaching classes from age 2 to adults, and over 16 years of competitive experience. She is currently representing both the Canadian National Team and National Military Team.
She is 13 time National champion, 2 time World Military champion, and training for the 2020 Olympics!

Come have your little ones GETSTRONG with us - our new addition to MOVE's after school program!
This amazing fitness experience will keep your little ones, ages 4 to 12, engaged while having fun. They will learn and build the foundations for core-strength, stability, flexibility, balance, movement patterns and motor-skills to help build confidence and improve performance in sport.
Programming includes gymnastics fundamentals and skills, acrobatics, body weight exercises including pull-ups, pushups, squats, bar skills, rope climbing, ring skills, trampoline, play-based games, obstacle courses, fitness challenges and more!

stage combat for kids
Do your little ones love Star Wars? Superheroes? Action movies? Using martial arts concepts, MOVE is excited to launch a new kids program based on creative combat skills. Kids will explore different ways of moving based on superhero fighting styles, with conditioning and core work built into every class. We will build a basic foundation of weapons manipulation skills using foam weapons (and bring your own light sabres), with their own choreography showcase to share with the parents at the end of every class. Each month we'll have a particular focus/theme, and students will work with partners and in groups throughout the program. Students will work their imagination and stage performance skills while improving their coordination and teamwork skills through dynamic movement and challenging choreography; all within a creative and playful setting!
Combat for kids Program Lead - Afton Rentz
Afton Rentz has been pursuing a career in action design and fight choreography for over five years. Her martial arts training includes Kung fu, Wushu, Capoeira, and PTK Kali, and weapons training with rapier & dagger, katana, broadsword, small sword, gladius/shield and staff. Afton works as a Stunt Coordinator, Fight Director and Choreographer and coaching kids programs including Stage Combat and Lightsaber camps.

GETstrong FOR teen girls
At MOVE, our mission is to help women fall in love fitness for all the right reasons. Key to our approach is to influence and coach girls at a young age to help equip them preemptively against the negative pressures from society that we believe focus wrongly on how we should look, rather than be.
Our GETSTRONG class for teen girls will provide encouragement, support and role models on what is important for health and fitness. We will coach the foundations for breathing, core-strength, mobility, stability, movement patterns and motor-skills. Our MOVEment menu will include learning compound lifts including deadlifts, squats, overhead press, cleans and snatches using bodyweight, kettlebells, barbells and more, with some great conditioning all within a fun positive peer group.
MOVE girls will become more confident, empowered and strong outside and in, as young women guided upon the right path on their fitness journey. As well, the high quality strength training and conditioning will benefit the young female athlete in improving performance in their sport or activity at a highly competitive level.
